Lupinewood’s Summer Celebration

Dear friends, neighbors, and community members!

You are invited to join us at Lupinewood for our first ever public event! We will be hosting a community dinner and summer solstice party to mark our collective’s first winter and spring here, and to celebrate before we dive into this summer’s big projects. Come and enjoy delicious food and live music on the hilltop grounds of a former robber baron’s mansion. The event is free and open to all—swing by for an hour or bring games and stay all day! (details below.)

Last winter, after seven years of preparation, our collective of organizers, educators, artists, and health care workers successfully closed on Lupinewood: a time-worn 1880s mansion, perched atop a ridge in downtown Greenfield, overlooking the Connecticut River valley, and contiguous with a number of public trails and vistas.

As a majority-trans collective, we moved into Lupinewood to create a deep and flexible resource for organizers and marginalized people. Future plans include a low-cost herbal clinic, a native plant sanctuary, a communal print shop, artist studios, and indoor and outdoor meeting, workshop, and event space. We have started working on major structural repairs to the buildings; this summer, we are working towards replacing the failing roof and installing a industrial kitchen capable of cooking for larger events. We have already accomplished a lot in our first two seasons here—and so much more remains to be done.

However, before the busy summer season overtakes us, we want to pause a moment to celebrate with our communities. See below for more information, and please reach out if you have any questions. This event also celebrates the launch of our summer campaign, which will be raising money for the necessary repair and construction work needed to protect the historic buildings and lay the foundation for the coming years of work at Lupinewood. We hope you will join us!

Warmly,
The Lupinewood Collective

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
